Remote Sensing (Winter 2025)
Remote Sensing (Winter 2025)
Topics covered in this course include the theory of EM radiation, various remote sensing platforms, image classification, spectral analysis, change detection, image segmentation, thermal radiation, LiDAR, principal components analysis, UAS systems, and more. A total of six labs were completed, including a spectral analysis of oil spills using density slicing, mapping LULC classes using unsupervised classification, conducting change analysis to quantify timber harvest, tracking channel migration using LiDAR data, and assessing the impacts of recreation on eelgrass populations using UAS imagery and virtual ground truth data. Labs were completed using ArcGIS Pro, ENVI, and Fusion software.
