Undergraduate Research with the Spatial Institute
From November 2024 to March 2025, I worked as a research assistant for WWU's Spatial Institute. In collaboration with the Puget Sound Partnership and WarthogIS, the Spatial Institute is working to map active stream channels in the Salish Sea using LiDAR imagery. The output of this project allows for riparian shadow modeling, analysis of fish distribution and location, accurate riparian buffering, and to serve as a partner dataset to WA DNR’s elevation-hydrography single-thread flowline dataset (currently underway).
